LEAGUE NO-SHOW POLICY    (Download PDF Document)

Continuing in 2024, MBMA league team captains are responsible for ensuring two players are present & checked-in prior to all league tee times. To mitigate no-shows and preserve fair competition, the MBMA and all teams/captains must follow these guidelines:

  • No later than 2 weeks prior to league play, the MBMA League Coordinator will provide staff and all teams a full-season match schedule. Any team requesting late tee times should notify the MBMA League Coordinator no later than the annual Spring Meeting.
  • The MBMA League Coordinator will post and update a league substitute list. Additionally, the Sub-Play tee sheet will show available substitutes for each night. All active MBMA members are allowed to substitute in any league match.
  • The MBMA League Coordinator will maintain a waitlist for players wanting a regular spot in league play. This waitlist will automatically rollover between seasons and be processed on a first-come-first-in basis.

TEE SHEET UPDATES

  • The MBMA League Coordinator will maintain a Google Sheet for each league night. The weekly player roster can be updated and confirmed by all teams and course staff.
  • Team captains must update each week’s players no later than 10:00 pm on the Saturday prior to weekly play. Player names can be added for the full season and updated as needed weekly.
  • Failure to provide accurate players may result in point penalties or team disqualification.
  • The MBMA League Coordinator will confirm that each night’s player roster is complete and forward to the course for updating the tee sheets every Sunday morning (for Monday & Tuesday night play) and Tuesday morning (for Wednesday and Thursday night play.)
  • There may be a few last-minute changes with substitutes, but each player on the tee sheet will be individually responsible for any no-show.
  • Having accurate names on the tee sheet allows all players to receive email updates for inclement weather, course closures, match time updates...
  • All players are required to check-in with the pro shop at least 15 minutes prior to his scheduled tee time.

NO-SHOW PENALTIES

  • Any team with a no-show will receive zero points for any match missed and be subject to additional penalties. Each individual player that does not play will count as a separate no-show.
  • 1ST TEAM NO-SHOW: Regardless of circumstances, the offending team & player will receive a no-show warning from the MBMA League Coordinator.
  • 2nd TEAM NO-SHOW: Unless there are extraordinary extenuating circumstances, the offending team & player will be disqualified and removed from league play. The MBMA League Coordinator will replace the team with the next available waitlist team or a combination of waitlist individuals. The offending player will not be allowed to play for another team during the season, while other members of the offending team are still eligible to play or substitute in future matches. To avoid these penalties individuals must provide specific details to the MBMA League Coordinator & MBMA Officers. The decision made regarding the appeal is final and binding. If appropriate, teams and individual players may be penalized separately.
  • 3rd TEAM NO-SHOW: Regardless of circumstances, the offending team & player will be disqualified and removed from league play as noted above.
  • TEAM NO-SHOWS can carry over to the following season. The MBMA League Coordinator will notify all teams with no-shows prior to the new season to confirm status.

RESCHEDULED MATCHES

  • With the exception of course closures and extreme weather conditions, all league matches should be played as originally scheduled. The MBMA League Coordinator or Nightly Delegate will inform teams directly if course conditions do not allow regular play.
  • If a league match must be rescheduled due to other circumstances, the MBMA League Coordinator or Nightly Delegate must pre-approve the change.
  • The team caption should notify the pro shop at least 24 hours before the original tee time and ask to cancel the last league tee time of the day. All other regular league matches will move forward one slot.
  • Failure to properly reschedule league matches may result in team no-shows, point penalties or team disqualification.
